My family... began Jan 23, 1971 when I married Donald Jim Garlick. Since our marriage we have been blessed with 5 great children, Michael Shawn, Dale Patrick, Phillip Dennis, Tanya Marie, and Samuel Robert.
Michael has married Shawna Lea Walls and they live in Washington. Both are working and Shawna has 2 degrees. She is a very talented and organized woman who has done much for Michael.
Dale started serving a mission for our religion and returned early for health reasons. After a long and courageous battle he has returned to his heavenly home. I miss him greatly still. He was active and vibrant when he lived. He loved the outdoors and physical activity. He was good with computers and I think he was well liked by his peers.
Phillip is working in a clean room with a very physically demanding schedual. He is extremely sharp, pays great attention to all the small details, works hard to stay out of trouble. If he says he will do something it is usually right at that time so he won't forget to do it. When his mind is decided on something it is usually after a great deal of thought and he is hard to move in another direction. He is very fair and diligent.
Tanya is married to Berret Allen Harris and has delivered one beautiful daughter, Brooke Naomi, who was too perfect to stay in this life. Tanya and Berret are expecting their second child and seem to be very excited about their family growing. Berret is working very hard on his schooling and doing a very good job of preparing and providing for his family. I have been very pleased and grateful for the care and attention he gives his mate.
Samuel is working and preparing for a mission. He is enjoying the outdoors with scouting, is very good at computers, is a real help to people he comes into contact with, and is a joy to be around. The challenges ahead of him will be interesting to observe as he deals with lifes events.
My husband, Donald Jim works hard -- continuing even when it does not seem to be progressing in a positive manner. He is commited to his family and loves to know exactly what everyone is doing. He loves Koi and watching birds. He has a mind that remembers all kinds of details. His hobby of amateur radio has supported us in the past and activity comes and goes as we have our economical challenges. He has been so thoughtful of me and not particitpated on the radio since I have had some physical problems for the fear I might be hurt by some of the radio signals that get created. I wonder often how I ever got so lucky to have such a wonderful husband.
